Training and Development Policy
General
Power Engineering Consultants plc is committed to a training policy which will:
- Fully train Trainee Engineers to do their job whether it be Design or Commissioning

- Provide a first class service to clients at all times
The training needs of all employees will be assessed when they start work, and from then on every six months at a formal appraisal.
Induction Training
The induction programme for new employees consists of one morning spent with members of the Personnel and Administration team and then for the engineers, introductory lectures are given by the Managing Director or the Engineering Manager.
Professional Qualifications
Where it is possible, Power Engineering Consultants encourages employees to work towards professional qualifications. For the engineers, this would consist of working towards Corporate Membership of the IET. To obtain approval of any courses, the employee must speak to the Personnel Officer or the Managing Director.
Professional Fees
Power Engineering Consultants will pay for membership to a relevant professional body. In most cases this is the IET.
Training Costs
When a course of study has been approved, Power Engineering Consultants will be responsible for the tuition and examination fees incurred by the employee in connection with the course.
